Gathering information for the project

Students may use a range of methods to gather information from the client. It must be remembered that evidence of the consultation must be included in the final submission of the project.

Start talking to your clients to discuss about the project you is proposing. You will need to find the following:

1. The current state of the system. You need find out the following:
a. Hardware they currently have. (Lists with description on how they are being used as of the moment.)
b. Input. What data goes in the system? (Even in manual labor, they need data to process information.) Sample inputs/Raw data should be scanned and printed with this paper
c. Processing. How they process information.
d. Output. Sample outputs should be scanned and be printed.
2. Create a Survey form or record your interview to support your analysis of the current system. Make sure they mention their names and the date when you interviewed/surveyed.

I will give you exemplars from past projects that were marked and annotated.

3. You must keep the files from this point because we will submit them to IBO as support files.

4. Write the Draft of your Initial Investigation.
